Species identification in snakes is particularly difficult for several reason. There are estimated over 3800 different species of snakes. To complicate things further, even if the public know the basic traits of a venomous snake, many non-venomous snake species mimic venomous snakes. In this project, you will show pictures of common snakes in your area, venomous and non-venomous, and ask if the public can identify which of the snakes is venomous.
